I'd like my child to join.

Can my child join SLAM Wrestling at any time during the regular season?

Regular season registration is ongoing through the end of November, but we will have

limited spots available after our initial October registration is launched. Contact us for availability.

When does the wrestling season start?

There are two wrestling seasons: Folkstyle and Freestyle/Greco-Roman (“FS/GR”). The “wrestling year” starts in September with the Folkstyle Pre-season, which usually ends near the end of October when the Folkstyle season begins. The Folkstyle season begins with the first tournament of the year and ends with the state tournament near the end of March. The FS/GR season begins near the end of March with the first tournament of the season and ends mid-July.

Why do I need a USA Wrestling Membership Card?

USA Wrestling, the organization that regulates all wrestling in the United States, requires that all wrestlers purchase a USA Wrestling Card Membership before participating in any USA Wrestling sanctioned events, including club practices, camps, clinics, etc. This membership is for the protection of everyone involved and provides secondary insurance to those with the membership

How do I register for tournaments?

We register our wrestlers for our local tournaments. For out of state events and national tournaments, wrestlers are required to register themselves. We will pass along all dates, deadlines and details.

Do I need a SLAM singlet to compete?

All wrestlers are expected to represent SLAM Wrestling Club during tournaments.

Your season fee will include team gear and a singlet.

What do I wear to practice?

Athletic attire and wrestling shoes are desired.

First time wrestlers may wear socks, but we urge you to purchase wrestling shoes as soon as possible to prevent injury.

Can't pay all at once?

We want your child to wrestle.  We offer payment arrangements to those that need assistance.  We ask that you make an initial $150 deposit to secure your child's spot.  From there we can break your payments up.  We ask that you have your full registration dues paid by the 1st tournament.  Otherwise, your child will not be able to participate until dues are paid 100%.
